I salute you! Btw, here’s a touching little paragraph written after this launch which I came across today (07/27/2005) and decided I had to include in my post:
I watched the launch of the space shuttle yesterday and it brought a wave of nostalgia. It is still a very exciting thing to see a rocket ship blast off. I remembered (vaguely) a time when our entire nation was focused on space flight. I’ll never forget being awoken in the middle of the night, as a five year old, so that I could watch Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. We need more moments like that and more national goals that we can all rally around. Sadly, it seems to me, such times are truly the stuff of nostalgia.
