Heart, not head

SEN. JOHN KERRY: We should not have gone to war knowing the information we know today.
I must confess that I was a bit saddened by this response. Senator Kerry continues to be way too cautious with his answers. To put it more bluntly, he continues to speak from his head and not his heart.
How about this answer, Senator:
SEN. JOHN KERRY: No. Knowing what we know today, no chance.
Gosh, I miss the young Vietnam Veteran in his twenties who boldly said, “How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?”
It’s all heart, Senator Kerry. Don’t use your head too much. Speak from your heart. Lord knows there will be millions tonight both in this country and around the world who will be closely watching you, praying for you, rooting for you and fervently hoping that you wouldn’t let them down.
Think about the 1050-odd young men and women whose beautiful lives were snatched prematurely. Think about the 7000-odd young men and women whose lives will never be the same. Why? For what purpose? Some of these folks will never get a chance to say what they really felt. You do have a chance. Make us proud. I know you can.
