The first thing to do is simply stop saying this nonsense until it is actually factually correct. I am sure the world would have a much better view of the US, even if none of its practices changed, if it simply started saying “Our actions and support are to promote the interests of the USA and only the USA. We also support other countries and organizations where that support promotes the interests of the USA.” Simple, honest, frank and nothing that is different from any other nation.
