What a week this was! Here’s to the voters of both parties who drove a stake into the heart of our political darkness. If you’ll forgive me for paraphrasing George Allen: Welcome back, everyone, to the world of real America.

I was here during the US Elections season of 2000, 2002 and then in 2004. Let’s just say that the election results of 2006 has been something I have longed for for a very, very long time. Let’s just hope that the current crop of elected Representatives and Senators know what the stakes are and do a much better job than their predecessors. Needless to say, just because the majority of them are Democrats does not in-and-of-itself guarantee anything . I would like to see some tangible results. Not promises. Not political chicanery. Not sex scandals. Not partisan nonsense. Just some good old “results”. Period.
