US: 60 Pct. of Baghdad Not Controlled
Am I the only one who sees the irony in this news article. Forget controlling or trying to control Iraq, we’re struggling to control half of Baghdad. Which begs the question - Why? The standard answer I seem to get is - “So that the elected Iraqi leaders in the parliament can get the space to get things done”. I have said it before and I will say it again - “True Iraqi Democracy can only be borne from the seeds sown by the blood and tears of Iraqis, not the sacrifices of teenagers from Kansas or Kentucky”. Iraqis have to want their freedom and a promise of better tomorrow more than US wanting to give it to them.
